12th to 4th at Gateway Dirt Nationals

gateway dec17In a season with many come from the back finishes, Bobby added another one Saturday night under the dome in St. Louis as he charged from his 12th starting position to capture a fourth place finish in this historic weekend of indoor racing. He had to fight from the back throughout the weekend as he qualified 74th out of the 97 cars on hand Thursday. On Friday, he failed to advance out of his heat race so he had to play the alphabet soup game. He won the C-Main from the pole advancing to the B-Main where he started 17th. He advanced 12 spots to get fifth and put himself into the A-Main. Starting 18th, he grabbed a 12th place finish in the 25-lap preliminary race. On Saturday, Bobby had to run a B-Main to advance into the big show. He started and finished second to move into the $20,000 to win main event. -- Brendon Bauman Photo
