Bobby finished 14th in the UMP Pro (Crate) Late Model national points in his first year of competition in this class. He was also tied for 7th in the UMP north region points.

Bobby was back at Spoon River on Saturday hoping to follow up his two wins in one night feat back in July. Bobby did just that, after winning his heat race, Bobby went on to collect his 7th feature win of the season!

vcs060609Bobby returned to Farmer City on Friday, the site of his first career Crate Late Model win the previous week. In heat race action Bobby started 4th and took the win which put him on the pole of the feature and went on to collect his second win!

It was then off to Vermilion County in Danville on Saturday. Two features were run making up the rained out feature from last week first. Bobby ran 4th in the makeup race. In the main feature Bobby was 4th in the heat and was very strong in the feature taking the win by about a half lap!

fc052909Bobby Pierce, 12 year old son of Dirt Late Model legend Bob Pierce, picked up his first feature win in the Crate Late Model division in his 8th start Friday night at Farmer City. This win makes Bobby the youngest winner in UMP history.

He started 4th in the feature, took the lead on the 3rd lap, and never looked back. Bobby would like to thank all of his sponsors for their support. He commented in victory lane, "I have big shoes to fill, but it shouldn't be that hard."

Bobby Pierce continues his crate late model debut. Just 12 years old, the "Short Cool One" has run his crate late model in five events. His first night out at Vermilion County Speedway, he came up short as a lapped car spinning in the corner cost him the chance for the victory. He finished 2nd.

The following weekend, he also finished 2nd.

On his third night out, he was running 4th when a competitor lost his driveshaft and the debris went through Bobby's right rear tire, taking him out.

This weekend, again at Vermilion County Speedway, there were 21 cars. Bobby started 8th in the heat and finished 4th, started 8th in the feature, and finished 3rd. He had a great run as he reeled in the leaders. He felt that he had a chance to win on a restart; however the track put a lapped car between him and 2nd place and that lapped car held him up.

Last night, Bobby ran his crate car for the first time at Lincoln Speedway. Unfortunately, he drew the tail of his heat, which has been his luck so far this year! He struggled a bit in the heat, as the track was super tacky. His small motor wasn't enough for heavy conditions. However, he started 14th in the feature and picked his way up to 6th place. He was really fast, and felt if he would have had a better starting position, he would have been in contention for the win.

This kid has been running great and has hopes of following in his dad's (Bob Pierce) footsteps into a super late model career.
